Sales & Export of Bitumen

Iran is the biggest producer of Bitumen in the Middle East Region. Currently our country exports more than 4 million tons of bitumen in different form of packaging and transportation means. The number of bitumen target destinations are already beyond 30 countries.
The total volume of country’s bitumen production is over 6 million tons out of which 2 million tons are consumed inside the country for various purposes.
In the present situation that our country is challenging with unfair and oppressive imposed international sanctions, the sales of bitumen to foreign countries is a good and reliable source for importation of remarkable amount of hard currency to the country and undoubtedly helps our country in this critical economical circumstances.
It should not be ignored that the bitumen exporters are facing & tolerating a number of risks and limitations such as blockage of international banking channels, unpredictable fluctuations in the foreign exchange rate and restrictions in providing logistic services for exporting their commodities.
Fortunately, Bitumen Hormoz Pars Company (BHP) is well recognized as one of the Iranian pioneers in producing and export of bitumen to abroad.
Utilizing advanced technology has enabled us to provide large quantity of bitumen cargoes in the shortest possible period of time and are proud to announce that BHP has successfully loaded 46,000 tons of bitumen on the biggest bitumen sea carrier which has ever been entered into Iranian waters and port in Bandar Abbas.
In the context of export of different range and grades of bitumen product, our company has been far ahead of other competitors and our daily export of bitumen to hundreds of customers all over the world is presently 2000 tons.

The Methods of Bitumen Export
In general the bitumen products are exported via sea carriers or road transportation and in bulk, barrel and bags. The bulk bitumen are exported through road & sea routes by tankers and vessels. Our company has extensive experiences in exporting bulk bitumen to so many countries like Kenya, United Arab Emirates, Pakistan, Oman, India, Indonesia, Bangladesh, China and …….
Most of the professional experts are in the opinion that the essential solution for neutralizing the adverse impact of oil sanctions against Iran is to divert the traditional methods of export from sale of raw material to manufacturing of finished goods. They believe that the preference should be given to export of product instead of crude oil because the volume and cargo sizes are relatively smaller, the cargo values are much lesser comparing to crude oil shipments, availability of more customers and suppliers, different means of export and also the possibility to concentrate on regional markets instead of international markets. In addition to these advantages, we must also bear in mind that in existing sanction situation, most of the petroleum products such as Bitumen, Sulphur and similar oil derivatives. are exempted from the imposed sanctions.
One of the most prioritized objectives of BHP is to produce the high quality of bitumen with most reasonable and competitive prices for its customers around the world. We have been able to materialize such objective by benefiting from the cooperation of reliable transport companies and also direct provision of the raw materials from the refineries with no middlemen in between.
Among our other export products, we would like to mention the production of Penetration Grade, Viscosity Grade, Cutback Grade, Performance Grade (AC Grade) bitumen. BHP exports its bitumen products to its customers based on their requirement in Metal barrels, Jumbo Bags or in Bulk.
